Zambia Digital Schools: Enhancing Secondary Education through Technology

Five secondary schools in Lusaka, Zambia’s capital, have been equipped with state-of-the-art computer labs. Each school has received 20 desktop computers, a laptop for the teacher, a printer, a projector, speakers, and a Connect Device. The Connect Device offers a wide range of e-learning resources tailored to the Zambian curriculum.

To ensure effective use of this technology, three teachers from each school participated in several weeks of training on ICDL base and intermediate modules. This training equipped them with essential ICT skills, enabling them to conduct workshops for their peers and teach students in the classroom. The modules included:

  • Computer Essentials
  • Online Essentials
  • Word Processing
  • Presentations
  • ICT in Education

The "ICT in Education" module focuses on helping teachers understand the key benefits and concepts of using ICT to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment in their
classrooms.
